Non-voting majority must speak up
Are you fed up with our elected politicians? Are you angry with the possibility of raising taxes, cuts in funding for education, expanding gambling, cutting services and letting prisoners out early to help solve the budget crisis?
Those who are currently in office seem to think these cuts are necessary. I believe these cuts are a way to avoid cuts in pensions, salaries and waste that will affect government employees and politicians.
They know any cuts in education will make an impact and the demands of parents and schools will give them the opportunity to raise taxes to avoid any changes that would be demanded without funding.
In November we will have the opportunity to change many of our elected officials. Those who usually do not vote can protest by taking the time to vote out all politicians who have taken advantage of their power without any cuts that will affect them.
The non-voter is the majority. Your votes can make a difference. Go out and protest by voting on election day.
Don't let the special interest groups, those that benefit and campaign donors, decide who is elected. Politicians have chosen to be public servants, not the other way around.
