Streit, Guyett plan Komen fundraiser
Former area girls basketball coaches Donna Streit and Darlene Guyett will be hosting a Workout For The Cure fundraiser on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Burlington Central High School.
Streit and Guyett are participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day For The Cure, a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight to end breast cancer.
The Chicago portion of the 3-Day is scheduled for Aug. 6-8 and registrants are required to raise $2,300 each on order to participate.
Sunday's fundraiser's proceeds will assist Streit and Guyett in reaching their goal. Activities planned for the event include yoga, aerobics, circuit training and massage. There will also be prize raffles.
Admission to the event is free, although any and all donations will be accepted and RSVPs are requested.
Yoga mats will not be provided. Classes will begin hourly at 10 a.m. and the last class will be at 3 p.m. Locker room facilities and concessions will be available and child care will be provided for children 2 years and older.
