Naperville 7-Eleven robbed at gunpoint

An armed robber struck a 7-Eleven in Naperville Saturday morning, injuring a store clerk.

Police were called to the store at 351 E. Bailey Road about 12:22 a.m. Saturday just after the robbery in which a man displayed a handgun to the store clerk and demanded money. The robber struck the clerk in the head and took cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money from the register before leaving on foot, Naperville police said. The suspect then headed south toward the Olive Trees complex.

The suspect is described as a black man about 20 to 25 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, thin to medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jacket, black pants and a gray stocking cap pulled down over his face.

The store clerk was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
