An authentic re-enactment in Villa Park

For years, parishioners at St. Alexander's Catholic Church in Villa Park have tried to make Good Friday special with re-enactments of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

This Friday was no exception as high school seniors portrayed the main characters in the Passion of Jesus Christ, an hourlong event depicting event leading up to Christ's death in anticipation of Easter Sunday.

Relatives and others attended the Friday service.

"It was great to have taken part in this play," said Lauren Wallace of Villa Park. "It gave me an up close and personal idea of what Jesus' last days were really like."
