Elk Grove family seeks names for marrow donor list

A drive to get more people on the list of possible bone marrow transplant matches will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the residence of Carlo and Adele De Benedictis, 666 Arizona Pass, Elk Grove Village.

The drive was organized by people who are hoping to find a match for Sebastian Milka, a 9-year-old boy who is in fourth grade and attends Leigh School in Norridge.

Sebastian has recently suffered a relapse with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and is in need of a bone-marrow transplant.

A cheek swab is used to obtain the needed information to add willing people to the National Marrow Donor Program list.

For more information about Sunday's event, contact Maria Medema, a relative of Milka's, at (847) 800-866. For more information on what's involved in a bone-marrow transplant, go to bethematch.org.
