Added security is worth the scans

To all those who are flying and feel that the TSA is going too far by patting people down or requiring them to go through the new body scanners, quit complaining. If you want to fly, this is what we have to do; if you don't like the new procedures, drive or go by train, don't fly!

I have also done my share of flying overseas. Be glad that the security measures are in place. The places I went to didn't have the same strict security that we have in this country. When I left O'Hare, I went through those scanners that are in the news. I had a layover in Southeast Asia, and all I had to do was go through one of the “old-fashioned” X-ray machines to board a plane. I did feel a little uneasy about this.

On the trip home, same thing the security was not very strict. I went to take my shoes off and was instructed not to take them off and waved through. I thought this to be very strange and unsettling. This is why there have been a number of attempts on recent flights from overseas.

So, the next time you fly, you should be glad that our security protects us all. I am sure that if something serious happens on board a plane, the people who are screaming about their rights being trampled on will be the same asking why there weren't tighter security measures in place. Have a safe flight.
