Walgreen to open Loop office

Deerfield-based Walgreen Co. announced Thursday it has leased 20,000 square feet of office space in the Chicago Loop for its growing online sales operation.

At a news conference including Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, officials said the office opened last month in the Sullivan Center at State and Madison streets.

They said the downtown office will house about 65 employees who handle graphic and Web design, marketing, information technology and merchandising. Walgreen, with more than 7,000 stores nationwide, has more than 140 stores in the city and nearly 600 in the state.
