What's wrong with red light cameras?
Much has been written about photo enforcement of the "Right Turn on Red" offense. I cannot understand why this is so controversial. The law is that, "one may make a right hand turn on red after a complete stop and right away given to other vehicles and pedestrians."
So what is the problem? We are either right or wrong, just like going over the speed limit. What difference is there between being caught by a camera or a police officer, except the camera is not subject to human interpretation?
The camera is certainly more cost effective and allows the professional officers to spend their time more effectively, especially since many departments are having personnel cuts.
