Punish officials who abuse system

Recently, I read your article “Cut the special privileges for officials" and completely agree. When it comes to financial benefits for elected officials, laws need to be made.

In the financial crisis that our country is in, many struggle to pay what they owe. Although this is not different for elected officials, it is not fair for them to receive special treatment because of their position in government.

When it comes to the Johnson case, I believe that he should receive some type of penalty for his actions. Citizens of any township would be punished for the actions that this elected official committed, but he walked away without repercussions. I believe that law should be made to prevent this from happening again, so that society is fair in its jurisdiction.
