Man accused of embezzling from Bensenville company
A DuPage County grand jury has indicted an Arlington Heights man on charges that he embezzled thousands of dollars from a Bensenville company he worked for and stashed some of the cash in the coffers of his wife's dance business.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 53-year-old Richard Shike following his indictment last week. He is charged with theft and fraud. He is accused of stealing more than $10,000, but less than $100,000 from Woodland International Transportation in Bensenville between March 2004 and November 2007, authorities said.
Court papers accuse Shike of issuing checks from Woodland that appeared to be payments to vendors of the company, but instead pocketing the cash. On at least one occasion, Shike is accused of funneling $2,350 into the bank account of his wife's Dance Unlimited business.
Attempts to reach Shike for comment were unsuccessful.
