WINGS rising from the ashes: A triumphant business story

The Greater O'Hare Association is hosting a panel presentation on how businesses can put plans in place to avoid disasters, and what to do when disasters occur.

Panelist Rebecca Darr, executive director of WINGS, will tell her account of a fire that destroyed WINGS Resale Shop in June 2010. Other panelists include: Deputy Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Mike Loesch, Elk Grove Fire Department; Sue Smedinghoff, business adviser, Harper College Small Business Development Center; and Tom Morrison, owner, ServPro Restoration. The event will be moderated by Sam Giordano of Harper College, which is sponsoring the event.

The breakfast is being held Thursday, Oct. 21, at Belvedere Banquets, 1170 W. Devon Ave., Elk Grove Village. Registration is at 7:30 a.m.; breakfast 8 a.m. and the panel discussion 8:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per person. Call (630) 773-2944 or visit greater-ohare.com.
