Elginbull; An Elgin woman said an unknown woman used her debit card on Valentine's Day to buy four orders of flowers from a pair of online flower shops. Reports said the suspect rang up a total of $345.84. bull; A private contractor for Comcast said that someone stole his $1,500 laptop Monday while he rewired cable inside a home in the 300 block of Lawrence Avenue. Reports said he had the computer in the house with him.Carpentersvillebull; Erika D. Benitez, 22, of the 2200 block of Morningside Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with unlawful use of a credit card and four counts of forgery - all felonies - after police said that she used the card on Jan. 8 to buy $811.65 worth of items, then on four separate occasions signed someone else's name on the receipts. Bond and court information was not available Wednesday night. bull; Michael L. Conley, 29, of the 0-100 block of Oxford Road, Carpentersville, was charged Tuesday with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, after police found between 10 and 30 grams of marijuana and a digital scale to weigh the drug, police said. His bond was set at $12,000 and his next court date is March 1 at the Kane County Judicial Center.St. Charlesbull; A white, enclosed semitrailer was reported stolen from the parking lot of a business on the 600 block of Industrial Drive on Jan. 19, police said. The owners believe the incident occurred sometime between Dec. 31 and Jan. 19. The trailer is 53 feet long by 102 feet wide and valued at $3,000.bull; Nicole Helen Minchuk, 27, of the 1500 block of Oak Lane in Sycamore, and Christopher Edward Patton, 38, of the 2600 block of Pirate Cove in Schaumburg, were charged Feb. 9 with retail theft, according to a police report. Security at a SuperTarget, 3885 E. Main St., observed the pair go to an electronics aisle and remove two Microsoft "Zune" media players off a display rack. Patton appeared to conceal the items while Minchuk acted as a lookout. The pair then left the store without paying for the items. Security also had footage of Patton removing three of the same media players from the store without paying for them on Dec. 2, 2009. Police eventually located the pair in a parking lot outside another local store. Upon their arrest, Patton provided a fake name to police while Minchuk concealed Patton's Illinois State ID card in her shoe. Patton was also charged with obstructing information and Minchuk subsequently charged with obstructing a peace officer.bull; Miguel A. Solis, 42, of the 1400 block of Indiana Street, was charged Feb. 11 with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, not having a valid driver's license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to a police report. Police stopped Solis' vehicle while responding to the 1700 block of Indiana Street for a report of a fight in progress. During questioning, Solis admitted to not having a valid driver's license. Police then searched him and discovered a razor blade and a cut plastic straw with a white powder residue in his pocket. Testing of the white residue revealed that it was cocaine.Kane Countybull; Christina F. Holmes, 23, of the 100 block of French Road, Burlington, was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Feb. 10 and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession, speeding, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at Burlington and Plato roads, according to a police report. Police found a bag containing less than a gram of cocaine under Holmes' driver's side seat and a glass pipe tucked into her waistband after she was stopped for driving 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. bull; A Ford Mustang engine block, transmission, several hand tools and extension cords, and a box of sheet metal screws were among items reported stolen Feb. 9 from a barn on the 48W400 block of Harter Road in the unincorporated Maple Park area, police said. bull; An iPod valued at $300 was reported stolen Feb. 10 from residence on the 4N200 block of Citation Lane in the unincorporated Elburn area. The victim told police the property has been missing since last year, but he only recently came to believe it was stolen.
