Gurnee recycling event

In celebration of America Recycles Week, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Warren-Newport Public Library and Warren-Township High School will host the third annual Recycle-O-Rama and Environmental Fair.

It'll be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Warren's freshmen-sophomore campus, 500 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee.

Along with new information and resources to be offered at the event, visitors will have an opportunity to bring an array of items for recycling without charge.

Items typically not accepted by curbside recycling programs will be accepted, such as athletic shoes, hearing aides, crayons, children's car seats, propane tanks and wireless telephones.
