RNC chairman out of touch
I was disgusted recently to find out that Micheal Steele, who is the chairman of the Republican National Committee, believes that a million dollars isn't a lot of money. Maybe it isn't to Mr. Steele and the fat cats he represents, but I can guarantee you that it is to my family and me.
His statement represents the true colors of the party of NO. They are interested only in tax cuts for the wealthy who are not affected by and large by a down economy. They do not lose sleep because they have lost their job and health care and cannot afford the premiums on their own to replace their coverage, none of which was brought on by their own incompetence or shortcomings. He would give me a tax voucher to help pay for health care insurance that I could buy with the money that I am not earning at this time.
What a joke. I would be interested to see Mr. Steele's reaction if he was left high and dry without warning by his employer. Of course he has "earned" his millions already and isn't concerned, I'm sure.
The fact that Mr. Steele and his cohorts are opposed to true health care "reform," against Wall Street reform and getting our money back from the bank bailout and that they want to destroy Medicare and Social Security shows how little they care for Main Street over their favoritism of the crooks who put this country in the mess it is in today.
By the way, it would take me 23 years to earn a million bucks at my former salary, Mr. Steele.
Not a lot indeed.
