Cook Library holds bookmark contest

Calling all students in Kindergarten through 8th grades who are residents of the Cook Library District or attend school in the district: It's time to get your creative juices flowing.

The Cook Memorial Public Library District is holding a design a bookmark contest so students can showcase their art skills. The original bookmark designs should feature a favorite book or book character. Students can pick up a blank bookmark and contest rules at a participating school or any of the Cook Memorial Public Library District facilities.

Completed bookmarks must be received by 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at any of the Cook Library facilities. Participating schools may have earlier deadlines, so check with your school.

Winners will be announced by Nov. 19. All entries will be displayed on the library's website, and copies of winning bookmarks will be made available at all the library facilities. Contest winners will also be invited to an art workshop on Saturday, Dec. 4.
