Sunshine, speed lead to crash at traffic light in South Barrington

A Bartlett man was ticketed and two women briefly hospitalized after a four-vehicle collision at Higgins and Bartlett roads in South Barrington Thursday morning.

Police said sunshine interfering with the vision of a Ford pickup truck driver is what likely caused him to hit the back of a Nissan stopped at a red light at 7:08 a.m. That car then struck the two vehicles stopped ahead of it on eastbound Higgins.

The driver of the Ford pickup, 28-year-old Bradley Haisler of the 1100 block of Ivy in Bartlett, was cited for driving too fast to conditions.

Transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates were the 61-year-old Elgin woman driving the Nissan and the 25-year-old Batavia woman driving the Kia that was the last vehicle struck. Both were treated and released.
