Kane Co. cops searching for three burglars
A St. Charles Township man scared three would-be burglars from his house Saturday night, and police were still searching for the suspects Sunday.
At 9:57 p.m., Kane County Sheriff's deputies responded to a house in the 7N200 block of Whispering Trail after the man confronted three men in his kitchen who had broken into his house, police said.
The trio ran out of the house and were last seen getting into an unknown type of vehicle and driving off, police said.
Sheriff's deputies, along with officers from the St. Charles and South Elgin police departments, created a perimeter around the area and a sheriff's K-9 team checked it for suspects - none was located.
The area was shut down for 15 minutes, said Lt. Pat Gengler, a police spokesman from the Kane County Sheriff's Department.
The men, described as ranging between 5 feet 10 inches 6 feet tall, and were last seen wearing blue jean jackets and hoodies. Their race was not known.
Anyone with any information about the incident should call Detective Ken Johnson at (630) 208-2028.
