Count Deer Park's birds:

The village of Deer Park and Prairie Woods Audubon Society will host The Great Backyard Bird Count event as part of their Leave No Child Left Inside initiative.

The free event takes place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Vehe Farm, 23570 W. Cuba Road, Deer Park. Children of all ages are invited to bring their binoculars, count birds, learn about different bird species and sip hot chocolate. Dress for the weather.
