Health care plan is needed first step
Each of us has a dream, and in this country, we have always emphasized the belief in a better day and that each person should be able to pursue our deepest desires with vigor and purpose.
However, for nearly fifty million Americans, this dream is under a threatening attack with regard to rising health care costs that are attempting to crush the delicate and strong fabric of American life.
As a fifteen year old, I feel very intent on protecting this dream for every single American, the belief that success should not be impeded by an array of special interests, insurance companies, and a Congress with the best health care plans in the country.
As our health care pushes our families into a fatal state of panic at the fear of unemployment, people are not able to gain access to other facets of growth like business and individual loans which are tied directly to our spiraling national debt which is fostered by a broken health care system.
I was a fighter for a robust public option, however, just with programs like Medicare in the 1960s, each plan starts with an initial part "A", if you will. I firmly stand by President Obama's push to reform our health care system, which is long overdue since Theodore Roosevelt's first attempt.
We start now, because it is the right thing to do. We light the torch in the belief that people's lives and health should be adequately recognized in the 21st century. We respond to this call of action, to restore and rejuvenate our own fabric of life. In the name of Teddy Kennedy and Teddy Roosevelt, let us take action for all Americans, because "If not us, who? If not now, when?"
