Fire injures three:Three people were injured in a kitchen fire at a Lincolnshire apartment at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire officials said in a news release. Firefighters were called to the complex in the 800 block of Audubon Way, where officials reported an oven fire in one of the fourth-floor units. Five fire extinguishers had already been used on the flames without success. Firefighters saw thick smoke coming from the unit, but building residents were told not to evacuate their dwellings and, instead, to remain in their apartments with their doors closed. Three people suffering smoke inhalation were treated at the scene, officials said in the release, but only two were transported to an area hospital with minor, nonlife threatening injuries.Blues artists to benefit Zacharias Center:Lonnie Brooks, Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, and Jimmy Dawkins and The Wind Gypsys will play a benefit concert for the Gurnee-based Zacharias Center on Thursday, March 11, 7 to 11 p.m. at the House of Blues in Chicago. There will be a wide assortment of food, including a buffet meal, a live auction, a silent auction, a special auction of sports and entertainment memorabilia and raffle prizes.
