Bataviabull; A GPS device and a charger were stolen out of a vehicle in the 500 block of North Van Buren Street, it was reported at 10:26 a.m. Feb. 13.bull; Jewelry was stolen out of an apartment in the 200 block of North Island Avenue, it was reported at 9:18 p.m. Feb. 13.bull; A radar detector was stolen out of a vehicle in the 200 block of Lathem Street, it was reported at 7:21 p.m. Feb. 12.Elginbull; Police responded early Monday to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Wilcox and Walton avenues, but found no evidence of who may have been behind the reported shooting. The report came about 5:25 a.m. from a witness who claimed he heard four to five shots in quick succession.bull; A woman reported Sunday that a man she had allowed into her home in the 100 block of North Lyle took $1,000 cash from her purse and refused to return it. The woman told police the man admitted taking money because he was "playing with her" and he would give it back, reports say. But when she went to his mother's residence to meet him, reports state, the man could not be found. Police are investigating.bull; A home in the 600 block of North Spring Street was reported burglarized Sunday night while its owners were away for the weekend. The owners reported coming home Sunday night to find the home's front door wide open and evidence of a forced entry through a rear window, police said. Among the items missing, reports state, were two radios, costume jewelry and several DVDs.bull; A stereo was reported stolen Sunday night from a car parked in the 1400 block of North Randall Road. the theft, reports state, took place between 1:30 and 7:30 a.m.bull; A license plate was stolen from a car parked over the weekend in the 1400 block of Getzelman Drive, police said.
