This spending can't go on forever

The selfish and irresponsible politicians that continually manipulate and restructure the very laws put in place for America's well being have changed our economic prognosis from guarded to terminal. It is clearly visible that its lifeblood is being diverted and taxed into oblivion.

The manner in which citizens are preyed upon is revolting. The recent accelerated property tax billing in Cook County is nothing but a disguised formula to preclude discovering where, or if, the 5 percent prepayment is credited on the second installment.

Most legislators that have put this state and country in its present condition are not qualified to make financial decisions.

Talk about the need for math education! The solution to a positive budget should not involve an equation with an unknown.

Their solution is to always dig the taxpayer well deeper and quench their insatiable thirst.

After all my years watching lawmakers' apathetic reaction to the catastrophes they create, I finally imagine an end to it all. The real estate market may rebound first, but the demand for housing will be multifamily units and homeless shelters.

Solid citizens and businesses will be unable to bear the nonstop ignorant and wasteful operations of the legislature and will lose everything, including their dreams. Gone forever will be meaningful employment, our houses, and our ability to maintain even a significantly deprived lifestyle.

But think, too, that gone forever will be the tax base, the very one that created the wealthiest nation and the most comfortable politicians on earth.

If government doesn't immediately put an end to reckless management, the consequence be a population riding makeshift motorized vehicles perilously and hopefully trying to find Mad Max.
