Attorney named to committee:The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Naperville attorney Robert G. Gibson as a member of the Supreme Court Rules Committee for a three-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2012. The committee receives and evaluates rule proposals for the operation of Illinois courts, admission and discipline of attorneys, and professional conduct. Gibson is a partner in the law firm of Dommermuth, Brestal, Cobine West, Ltd., in Naperville. He has served on the Illinois Character and Fitness Committee, as vice chairman in the Second Judicial District, and is a past chairman of the Real Estate Law Committee of the DuPage County Bar Association.Woman's Club art contest: Naperville Woman's Club is sponsoring a young adult art contest Feb. 18-19 at its clubhouse at 14 S. Washington St., Naperville. The contest is open to all high school students in Naperville Unit District 203, Indian Prairie Unit District 204 as well as those who are home-schooled or attend private schools. The top three winners in each category will receive ribbons and cash prizes. There will be a public reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 19 when awards will be presented. Friedrichs has been named 2009 Professional of the Year by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association. Jason Myers, superintendent of finance and personnel, has been named Young Professional of the Year.
