The Illinois House voted 81-31 in favor of legislation requiring the governor to get the General Assembly's approval before being able to sell any state asset worth $1 million or more. The proposal targets the potential sale of a state prison in Thomson to the federal government to house Guantanamo Bay inmates and terrorist detainees. The proposal, HB 4744, now goes to the Illinois Senate.
