What is news? Certainly not this
We live in a sick and twisted society where a mother can have her baby killed on demand and suffer no consequences from the law. Shoot a stray dog, however, and you are in big trouble.
A story appeared on the front page of no less than two editions of the Daily Herald about a man who shot a stray dog. So what? He's being held on $400,000 bond. He's facing jail time and fines. All this for shooting a stray dog. That, fellow Americans, is ridiculous.
I own three dogs myself. They are well cared for and stay in their own yard 99 percent of the time. My brother lives in Texas. He also owned three dogs. One of his dogs would run off regularly. Its favorite place was the ranch down the road where the dog harassed the sheep.
The rancher shot and killed it and then called my brother to come and get his dead dog off his property. Yes, my brother was upset but was adult enough to take responsibility and say that it was his fault. He had been warned on several occasions. No, the rancher was not arrested.
What's even more ridiculous about this affair is that while the Herald runs front page stories about nonsense - President Obama signed an agreement which allows an international law enforcement agency (Interpol) to have jurisdiction in the U. S. without being subject to the Constitution. It's funny how that didn't make the front page. Yes, it's unconstitutional, but so is most of what Obama does. That's news we need to know.
The guy who shot the dog's real crime: He thought he was still in America.
