Quinn campaign continues to blast Hynes ad
Gov. Pat Quinn's campaign is keeping up its criticism of a campaign ad by Comptroller Dan Hynes that features the late Chicago Mayor Harold Washington.
Quinn's campaign lined up four Illinois members of Congress who were Washington supporters on Friday to blast the ad and demand Hynes take it down.
The ad features video of Washington explaining why he removed Quinn as the city's revenue director in 1987.
U.S. Reps. Danny Davis, Bobby Rush, Jan Schakowsky and Luis Gutierrez say the ad was irrelevant and distorts history.
Hynes has said the ad is relevant to his claims Quinn doesn't deserve a full term as governor because he's not up to the job.
Quinn and Hynes are competing in the Feb. 2 Democratic primary.
