Allan for Kane County Board
I am writing in support of Deborah Allan for a third term on the Kane County Board.
I have had the pleasure of working closely with her on several neighborhood issues over the past 23 years. Since she and her husband moved here, she has volunteered for every housewalk and served several terms on the board of directors of the Gifford Park Association. She seldom misses a meeting, and when she is there she brings a plate of brownies to share.
A few years ago, Allan received a mayor's award for preservation for her tireless efforts at getting the dream of a pocket park at Geneva and Chicago streets to become a reality. It is now a beautiful addition to our neighborhood and the city of Elgin.
Many have seen Allan walking her dog in the neighborhood. She picks up garbage as she walks. She truly cares about her neighborhood and our county.
Allan is a tremendous asset to our neighborhood and will be an even bigger one to our county. Her independent voice and insistence on the county being transparent in its work are two things this county truly needs.
