Illini women lose All-American
WACO, Texas -- Destiny Williams, one of the nation's top high school players before going to Illinois last fall, has transferred to Baylor.
Baylor announced the move Wednesday, saying Williams will be eligible after the fall semester in December, during the 2010-11 season. The 6-foot forward from Benton Harbor, Mich., has three years of eligibility remaining.
Williams was The Associated Press Michigan Class A player of the year in 2008 and the Gatorade Michigan player of the year last season.
Williams also was a McDonald's All-American, as were current Baylor players Brittney Griner, Morghan Medlock and Brooklyn Pope. Medlock is the only senior in that group.
