Playoff bound Bliss host Haitian fundraiser

A Chicago football team will be shuffling on Friday night not because they are greedy. They'll be on hand downtown to help feed the needy.

The crew from the tackle, full-contact all-women Chicago Bliss football team will travel next week to southern Florida in hopes of playing in the Lingerie Bowl championship game. But before they leave, they'll appear Friday night a Le Passage nightclub in Chicago for a fundraiser benefiting Haitian earthquake victims via the American Red Cross.

The team played its two home games this season at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates in the Lingerie Football League's first year. They're expected to return to the arena for a second season with more games and teams.

The cocktail reception goes from 9-11 p.m. at 937 N. Rush St. Music will by provided by Rock City and DJ Kane. Call (312) 255-0022 or go to lepassage.com for more information.

In the playoffs, the Bliss will face the Miami Caliente on Thursday, Feb. 4, in the LFL's Eastern Conference Finals at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Fla. The winner will play in the Lingerie Bowl, the league's championship. The game will air on pay-per-view on Feb. 6.
