Elginbull; Eligh A. Larson, 24, of the 800 block of North Brook Street, Elgin, was charged with criminal damage to property Thursday; police said he ripped the covers off a book at the Gail Borden Library. The damage and value of the archaeological book about Atlantis was less than $20. Judge Bruce W. Lester set Larson's bond at $5,000, but allowed him to be released on his signature. Lester also ordered Larson to stay out of libraries. Larson's next court date is Thursday in Elgin. bull; Exavie P. Stivalet, 18, of the 200 block of Michigan Street, Elgin, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis Thursday, after police said he intended to sell between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana. His bond was set at $10,000 and his next court date is Jan. 26 at the Kane County Judicial Center. bull; Rhonda L. Farrell, 43, of the 100 block of East Spring Avenue, South Elgin, was charged with unlawful use of a credit card Thursday, after police said she used someone else's card to charge more than $300. Reports said that on Sept. 14, she bought cigarettes, televisions, gift cards and car parts, with the card. Her bond was set at $15,000 and she is due in court Thursday at the Kane County Judicial Center.Carpentersvillebull; Karina Arreguin, 34, of the 2000 block of Berkshire Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with felony identify theft Thursday after police said she used another woman's name and Social Security number earlier this year to fraudulently open an account with ComEd in which she received more than $300 in services, police said. Her bond was set at $15,000 and she is due in court Thursday at the Kane County Judicial Center. bull; Richard D. Schaefer, 53, of the 100 block of North Washington Street, Carpentersville, was charged with felony deceptive practices for a Dec. 4 incident in which he wrote a check for $506.87 to Menard's, knowing he didn't have the funds to back it up, police said. His bond was set at $5,000 and his next court date is Feb. 4 at the Kane County Judicial Center. West Dundeebull; A brick was thrown through the south side window of the VFW post at 117 S. 1st St. The window frame was also pushed into the building. Police said the alarm triggered at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday and likely scared off the intruder.
