Look closely at views on life and death

I read with interest the article in Sunday's paper on the Republican governor's race.

Brady stated his Roman Catholic beliefs guide his decisions. What does that mean for those who are atheists, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Muslims, secular humanists and Unitarian Universalists? I don't want to have laws passed that reflect the beliefs of the Pope.

Dillard opposes abortion EXCEPT in the case of rape, incest or when the life of the mother is in danger. So, HE knows whose life is more important? It is good to know someone has that insight.

Proft opposes both abortion and the death penalty. That at least is logical, but then goes on to reference the God-given right to life and that Roe v Wade should be overturned. Who's God? Is there a God? Is my God better than your God? Is it Goddess or God?

Another conundrum, Andjewezeski, Brady and Proft (Dillard "could be") support carrying concealed weapons. Huh? A gun's purpose is to kill. Doesn't the Old Testament say 'Thou shalt not kill'? Doesn't Christ say 'Beat thy swords into plowshares and practice war no more?'

And on gay marriage? Equal rights for all Americans, whomever they choose to love. We all pay taxes, we should all have the same rights.
