Bring a blanket for Legacy Girls show

The Legacy Girls will be performing songs from the '50s and '60s at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, on the lawn outside Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Road.

It's the first in a series of monthly free concerts the church will hold this summer. Last year was the inaugural season for this musical event. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Future events include Levi Riggs LIVE, a country/gospel artist who will be performing 7:30 p.m. July 17, and Let Freedom Ring II, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11.

The August event will be Aug. 7 in conjunction with the church's famous Cornfest and will feature various performers, including Frankie Miglio, whose vocal style ranges from big band and pop to rock 'n' roll. Frankie reprises artists' hits from the 1940s to 1970s.

For more information on the concerts, call (847) 255-5510 or go to communitychurchrm.com.

The Legacy Girls new show, "Those Nifty Fifties and Sixties," will feature songs including "Chapel of Love," "My Boyfriend's Back," "Lollipop," "It's My Party," "Jailhouse Rock," "Stop in the Name of Love," and "Respect." Before developing its latest show, the vocal trio had been performing the hits of the famous Andrews Sisters for almost four years.
