Walsh holding town hall in St. Charles

Eighth District U.S. Congressman Joe Walsh is holding another town hall meeting from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial Cafe at 1625 E. Main St. in St. Charles.

Walsh’s town hall gatherings with constituents have become a common occurrence. The gatherings have gained infamy as of late following a heated debate with an audience member last month, after which Walsh said he apologized for shouting.

Walsh, a Republican, has said he plans to seek re-election in the redrawn 14th congressional district, which would force a primary battle against fellow GOP Congressman Randy Hultgren. However, rumors have been swirling that he might go after the 8th district seat instead. Walsh’s camp said there are no plans for the McHenry Tea Partyer to announce what district he will run in at Saturday’s event.
