Old Bradley clock tower getting new faces

PEORIA, Ill. — Bradley University says workers this week are expected to install new clock faces in the old clock tower at school’s Westlake Hall.

The work is part of a $22 million renovation and expansion of the building.

Westlake was built in 1897 as part of what was then known as Bradley Polytechnic Institute. The building was originally dedicated to a program to teach students how to make time pieces. It became the home of Bradley’s Department of Education in 1961.

The university said in a news release that the old clock faces were expected to come down Monday and the new ones were to be up by Thursday.
