Deportations? Look to prior presidents
With our president ignoring the major problem of Illegal immigration, he should refer to the actions of several previous presidents.
Back in the Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available. President Harry Truman deported over two million illegals after World War II to create job openings for returning veterans. In 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million illegals so World War II and Korean War veterans would have jobs.
These presidents were of both parties and with modern technology, the right course of action could surely be to help the unemployment situation in our country. The Arizona law is only carrying out the federal law that has been the law of the land for many years. Most naturalized immigrants will feel abused if an amnesty plan legalizes those who have broken the law to enter our country illegally.
