Buxbaum named IU Maurer School of Law interim dean
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Indiana University Board of Trustees has appointed Hannah Buxbaum to be acting dean of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington.
The appointment takes effect Feb. 1.
Buxbaum is currently executive associate dean for academic affairs at the Maurer School of Law.
Her appointment last week follows the recent announcement that the law school’s current dean, Lauren Robel, has been named interim provost for the IU-Bloomington campus. Robel succeeds Karen Hanson, who’s leaving IU on Jan. 31 to accept a role as senior vice president and provost at the University of Minnesota.
Buxbaum joined the Bloomington law faculty in 1997 and was named professor of law in 2003. She served as associate dean for research from 2007 to 2009 and was appointed executive associate dean in 2009.
