Let’s occupy sites in D.C. instead

It’s time to pack up the tents, get out of the public parks and clear the streets to protest the loaning and repayment of billions of dollars to U.S. banks. The real problem is our sitting legislators who cannot agree or make the hard decisions that will aid the people of the United States. The failure of what is laughably called the bipartisan supercommittee has provided just one more example of the partisan gridlock and dysfunctional legislative body sitting in Washington.

Representatives elected to serve us instead serve themselves and their pork projects. They appear more capable of finger pointing and blame than in governing. We can tell Greece, Italy and Spain to fix their economy while hypocritically watching ours decline into oblivion. In the corporate environment they would be fired for failing to do what they were hired to do.

That is our responsibility on Election Day — to take back and Occupy the government with representatives who will do the job. Rather than sleep in a park and sit in front of a Wall Street building we should be in front of the White House, the Capitol building and the Supreme Court. Maybe if we “occupied” the front lawns of our representatives they would get the hint that we are truly fed up. Their front lawn is a lot closer than Wall Street!
