Seniors elected those who misspent funds

Liz Mueller claims in her Fence Post letter (Nov. 25) that seniors aren’t to blame for the Social Security and Medicare mess. It is the politicians who spent the money the seniors contributed out of their hard earned wages — money that should have been set aside and invested for all these years.

Only problem is, it’s the seniors who kept electing those politicians. None of today’s 20- or 30-somethings elected the politicians 30 and 40 years ago who spent the seniors’ money instead of investing it. The seniors who Ms. Mueller thinks are blameless elected them.
