Kane County sheriff’s police are awaiting results of a psychological evaluation on a man who shot another man Sunday in Burlington before possible charges are considered.
Sheriff’s deputies along with officers from Campton Hills and Hampshire responded to a home in Burlington at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday and found an adult male who was shot in the arm, according to authorities.
The victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin but is expected to survive the shooting.
Police said a man was taken into custody following the shooting but refused to release further details.
“We are still trying to sort everything out,” said Kane County sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Gengler.
He added that police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the shooting and the public is not at risk.
