Benefit Battle of Maine Twp. high schools McTeacher's Night
It was an amazing night for all three Maine Township High Schools! McTeacher's Night was held Wednesday, Dec. 7 for each high school at the same time in separate McDonald's restaurants.
The goal was to raise money for the School Based Health Center located at Maine East High School. Each high school battled to raise the most money in a fund-raiser that had the teacher's in each school work behind the counter at McDonald's serving up tasty fries, and McCafe beverages, along with working at the drive-thru window.
The school spirit was bursting as the Maine East Blue Demon mascot made the rounds in the dining room at Niles McDonald's restaurant.
The Maine East Strings set up a performance in the restaurant and serenaded the customers with beautiful music. They kept Maine East Videographers John and Nadine very busy.
The Maine West McTeacher's Night took place at the Oakton St. Des Plaines McDonald's. The Maine West Step Group treated customers to a very special and amazing performance! The teacher's had a blast serving the customers and singing “I'm Lovin' It” chorus every time a donation was placed in the tip jar.
Maine South High School held their McTeacher's Night at the Park Ridge McDonald's. The school treated customers to holiday songs with volunteer student carolers. Ronald McDonald appeared at each restaurant, he first greeted customers at the Niles restaurant, then made his way to Park Ridge and finally to Des Plaines where he did a few magic tricks to entertain the customers.
So who won the challenge? The numbers are still rolling in as of this print. Stay tuned; we'll post another article with the winners within the next couple days.
A huge thank you goes to the Schenk family, for allowing this incredible event to take place in their restaurants. Another enormous amount of appreciation goes to Bernie and Emma from Maine East for coordinating this, first time ever, Triple McTeacher's Night!
Ronald's appearance was courtesy of the Des Plaines, Park Ridge and Niles McDonald's owner/operators, the Schenk Family. For more information, visit the website at www.mcillinois.com.
