Naperville seniors invited to Christmas lunch

Senior citizens can enjoy a Christmas lunch at noon Dec. 25 hosted by Naperville YMCA and the Naperville Park District.

“We’re happy to work with our community partner, the YMCA, to support this special event,” park district Executive Director Ray McGury said.

Last year was the first time the park district was involved with the event, which was held in the newly remodeled Community Hall in the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. This year, the luncheon again will be held in Community Hall, which seats up to 160 people.

“Thanks to the generosity of families in the community, there is no cost to seniors to attend this luncheon,” said Kroehler YMCA Executive Director R.J. Bartels.

“This festive luncheon provides a place for people to celebrate with others who also may be far away from their families or otherwise alone for the holiday.”

Interested seniors must make reservations by Dec. 16 by calling Jenny Gardner at (630) 527-4010 and leaving a message with guests’ names and the total number of seniors in their party.
