Rosemont ramps up tollway access
It’s a straight shot from the Tri-State Tollway to Rosemont now.
Illinois State Toll Highway Authority leaders opened a new exit ramp from the Tri-State (I-294) onto Balmoral Avenue today.
Construction costs, which include rebuilding the existing southbound entrance from Balmoral onto the Tri-State and widening the Balmoral bridge, came to $16 million. The tollway and village of Rosemont shared the expense.
The all-electronic ramp is one of several projects where the tollway is partnering with local communities. The agency is currently working with the village of Huntley plus Kane and McHenry counties on access to Route 47 from the Jane Addams Tollway (I-90).
