IP schedules auditions for ‘Seussical the Musical’
Auditions for the Improv Playhouse North Shore Showstoppers Production — fourth through eighth grades — of the Broadway Junior Musical “Seussical the Musical” will be Saturday, Jan. 7.
The auditions will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Highland Park Karger Center, 1850 Green Bay Road.
Workshops and rehearsals will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 14 through April 15.
Performances are tentatively scheduled for the weekend of April 13-15.
“Seussical” is a fantastical, magical, Broadway musical extravaganza. Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (“Ragtime,” “Once On This Island”) have brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and a little person with a big imagination — Jojo.
“Oh, the Thinks You Can Think” captures the show’s spirit of imagination, as the colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.
There are plenty of roles for guys and gals. To sign up for an audition time and pick up or email an audition packet, contact the Improv Playhouse at (847) 968-4529 and visit their website at www.improvplayhouse.com.
