Chicago Wolves’ Darren Haydar nets career milestone in victory

Right wing Darren Haydar became the 22nd player in American Hockey League history to record 700 career points, helping the Chicago Wolves snap a five-game winless streak with a 4-2 Amtrak Rivalry victory over the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday night at the Allstate Arena.

Haydar had a goal and an assist, and defenseman Chris Tanev notched 3 assists for the Wolves, who snapped a three-game home ice winless drought.

“When you haven’t won in a while, it becomes difficult to get a victory,” said Wolves coach Craig MacTavish. “It was nice to get a win tonight, especially in front of our home crowd.”

Sebastian Erixon, Victor Oreskovich and Kevin Connauton also scored for the Wolves (10-9-1-3). Goalie Matt Climie stopped 31 shots.

The Wolves host the Grand Rapids Griffins at 3 p.m. today.
