Taxpayers United to meet in Arlington Heights

Jerry Sadler, Wheeling Township assessor, will speak to the regular monthly meeting of Taxpayers United of Northwest Cook County, 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Arlington Heights Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. The meeting will include a short multiple choice quiz on how well you know your tax bill, with Sadler explaining the correct answer to each question. He will talk about how to lower your tax bill. Among questions on the quiz are how could my tax bill go up when my assessed valuation went down, is it too late to file an appeal for my 2011 assessed valuation, how can I find out what my neighbors tax bill is, and how are the tax rates for school districts determined.
