HOFFMAN ESTATES — Life Spine, a medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets products for the surgical treatment of spinal disorders, announced that it has been awarded seven additional patents from its package of more than 80 filings.

In addition, the company has begun limited releases of three of the six new product lines; Pro-Link and Dyna-Link, interbody cage/screw constructs and Aileron, a minimally invasive adjustable InterSpinous Fixation System.

“Aileron is turning out to be our most successful alpha launch to date,” said Michael Butler, president of Life Spine. “Aileron is allowing surgeons to make smaller incisions, rapidly size in situ and reduce overall procedure times.”

Life Spine has also realized 25 percent sales growth over the prior year, based upon increased international sales, expansion of its Centric Minimally Invasive Systems Suite and the accretive effects of new product verticals.
