Solider welcome home:

Army Pfc. Todd Jackson, who recently returned home from a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan, will receive a warm welcome home Sunday. He’s scheduled to attend Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. St. Francis Pastor David Ryan will recognize Jackson after the homily. After Mass, the Warrior Watch Riders motorcycle brigade will escort Ryan to American Legion Post 1170, 111 East Main St., in Round Lake Park, for a welcoming ceremony. It was Jackson’s first deployment to Afghanistan. He’ll be home until Nov. 29 and then return to his duty station in Fort Polk, La. While in Afghanistan, he completed route clearance missions and swept for roadside bombs.
