Ÿ Officials from a business in the 1800 block of Larkin Avenue told police that between Tuesday and Wednesday someone stole two money bags that contained a total of $1,470.10 and a personal check for an unknown amount. The person who made the police report suspects a former employee, who was terminated for submitting fraudulent mortgaging paperwork.

Ÿ Robert G. Rivera, 20, of the 2400 block of Meadowsedge Lane, was charged with several offenses after police recovered nearly 55 grams of marijuana, a stun gun and a drug pipe from his car, all during a Tuesday traffic stop, according to a police report. Rivera was charged with armed violence, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held Thursday on $500,000 bail. He has a Nov. 28 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Ÿ Someone stole a Garmin GPS and a set of jumper cables from a car in the 38W100 block of Heatherfield Road near Elgin between 6 and 11:59 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff’s report.
