Opera in pop culture at Barrington Lyric chapter

On Sunday, Nov. 13, the board of Barrington Chapter Lyric Opera Chicago will be hosting a wonderful, fun program which will be free for all Lyric Opera chapter members and only $15 for guests.

Entitled “Opera in Pop Culture or Where Have I Heard That Tune Before?,” this multimedia program will be presented by Bob Levi, demonstrating numerous examples of opera melodies incorporated into popular culture. Some of the melodies will be from “Don Giovanni,” “Barber of Seville,” “La Traviata,” and “Carmen.”

This event will be held at the Barrington Area Public Library, Registration begins at 2 p.m. The program will promptly begin at 2:15 p.m.

Light refreshments will be served immediately following the program.
