Water tower collapses in northwest Indiana town
GOODLAND, Ind. — A small town in northwestern Indiana is without water after its water tower collapsed.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Department says the tower in Goodland collapsed late Monday.
Town Marshal Dillion Hall tells WLFI-TV that it wasn’t immediately known what caused the collapse in the town of about 1,000 people some 30 miles northwest of Lafayette. No injuries were reported.
WLFI reports it’s unclear how long the town will be without water. Hall says a new water tower will have to be built.
The town is receiving donations of water bottles from nearby Kentland.
